Join us for Bear Lake’s biggest winter celebration—the Bear Lake Monster Winterfest, happening January 30–31, 2026! Bring the whole family for a weekend of fun in the snow and in the lake. Events take place in Logan Canyon, Sunrise Resort & Event Center, and the Utah Bear Lake State Park Marina. Entry at the Marina is FREE for Winterfest guests, and we invite you to support The Family Place, our local nonprofit partner. Winterfest is made possible thanks to our amazing community partners and volunteers, including the Bear Lake Valley Chamber of Commerce, Bear Lake Valley Convention & Visitors Bureau, Garden City Fire District, Bear Lake State Park, US Forest Service, Sunrise Resort & Event Center, and Epic Recreation.
Changes for the 2026 Event
- Fireworks, Smores, Monster Disco Dance, and Star Gazing will be held Saturday evening at the Utah State Park. Dance held under the Tent
- Raffle will be held over a 1 hour period. $1000 of dollars of giveaways
- Heated large tent will be used for kick off and awards pre and post events.
- The Cisco fishing event will NOT be held this year.
- The Vendor Market will NOT be held this year.
- Changes around the Monster Plunge
- Participation will be capped at 300 persons
- Registration will all be done online before the event
- Jump queue will be created based on preregistration timing

Monster Winter Sports & Trails Day

Beaver Creek Lodge (motorized) & Bear Lake Overlook Rest Stop Area (non motorized)
This FREE event provides an opportunity to try winter sports. There will be Snowshoes, Cross Country skis, sledding tubes, Snowmobiles for both adults and kids, all sponsored by Epic Recreation, Beaver Creek Lodge, The Sportsman, The Top of Utah Snowmobile Club and The Utah Avalanche Center. Free hot cocoa and Treats for all.

Monster Winterfest Social

Free family-friendly fun sponsored by The Family Place. Activities for children of all ages. Pre-registration packet pickup for Saturday events. Come connect with fellow Bear Lakers and enjoy the Taste of Bear Lake. Parking will be at Resort with overflow at the Utah State Park (shuttle provided). Learn more.
Monster Taste of Bear Lake
Friday 5pm – 8pm
Sunrise Resort & Event Center – Sunrise Hall
$3/ticket. A ticket is good for one redemption taste with our local restaurants that will be set up throughout Sunrise Resort. No limit on number of tickets a person can purchase. While you eat, you can pick up your packet for your Saturday events, purchase raffle tickets and enjoy the activities around the resort. Be early, it is first come first serve and many vendors run out as the evening progresses. Return this winter to their establishment to support their winter business and enjoy the winter beauty of Bear Lake.

Monster Cardboard Boat Regatta

“Go jump in a lake!” and help raise funds for The Family Place charity located in Garden City and the local Chamber of Commerce.
Costumes highly encouraged. With your registration of $50 you will receive the coveted Bear Lake Monster Plunge Sweatshirt and a new cool towel as you exit the lake proving you took the PLUNGE!
